The Two Faces of January
Named for Janus, the Roman god of beginnings and transitions, January has two faces—one face gazes into the past and the other faces peers into the future, perfectly symbolizing the threshold we stand upon at the start of each year.
In a world where change is the only constant, January provides a time to reflect on lessons learned and to anticipate challenges and opportunities that may lie ahead. For those who choose to embrace it, the new year provides a blank canvas on which to paint new dreams.
As a committed optimist, I find myself irresistibly drawn to the promise of the unknown. Each new year is a gift—365 days filled with chances to grow, create, connect, and make a difference. It’s an invitation to reimagine our lives, to set audacious goals, and to take bold steps toward our future. This isn’t a fleeting emotion; it’s a conscious choice to discover and unlock new opportunities. Join me in choosing joy over despair again this year.

POSTCARDS TO AMERICA
I began the series Postcards to America in 2019 to portray hidden stories and critique systemic issues across the U.S. by juxtaposing the idealized imagery of vintage postcards with contemporary and historical realities.
The image above, Ohio, is the most recent in this series. Click HERE to read its backstory.
I hope to eventually make 50+ postcard images. Below are the first 20!
