February 2024: Love and Dragons
It’s hard to believe that we are already five days into February. Where I grew up by the Great Lakes, February is a dreary month. Here in Albuquerque, there’s just the slightest promise spring with more days in the 50s than in the 40s and when the sun is out it feels almost balmy to this child of Minnesota and Wisconsin winters.
So why love and dragons? I have work in two shows opening on Saturday, February 10. The first show at The Next Best Thing to Being There on Mountain Road in Albuquerque celebrates the Lunar New Year from 4-6pm. And this year happens to be the Year of the Dragon. The second show is at the 3017 Gallery downstairs at Artisans ABQ on 3017 Monte Vista Blvd, and is titled What’s Love Got to Do with It? from 4:30-7pm on the same day.
Then on February 22nd I’ll be heading north to pick up artwork from the Arts North International 29 at the Hopkins Center for the Arts in Minnesota and delivering one of the works-on-paper from the House of Cards series to a cousin who is purchasing it. This return trip also gives me a second chance to see my lovely extended-family in the Twin Cities.
Six Bones Under has found a home in the Twin Cities!
There are a handful of the original House of Cards works-on-papers still available.
